MBA Racing is dedicated to the nostalgia of classic Pontiacs. Currently we have three cars participating in competition. In several Bracket classes as well as Pro-Gas classes of B-Gas, C-Gas, D-Gas and NHRA Sportsman classes. We retired one car from the Drag Racing events at the end of the season of 2008, a 1979 Pontiac Trans AM 10th Anniversary known as Rocky.
Rocky – 1979 Pontiac Trans Am 10th Anniversary with the stock 403 Oldsmobile motor. This was Apryl’s daily driver when she turned 16 and has been through high school Bracket and Sportsman classes. The car is still driven on the street and is primarily stock. Apryl and her 79 Trans Am have gone rounds and collected many trophies from unsuspected competitors. Don’t be fooled when you see the girl at the track eating candy and laughing, when she gets in the car it is an entirely different situation.
Sugar-Rush – 1977 Pontiac Trans Am. Originally named because of the once candy orange and purple paint. This is Apryl’s car which she competes in Bracket series and Pro-Gas events, previously D-Gas, new in 2010 C-Gas category. The car has fiberglass doors, front body and hood. It has been painted to match the MBA Racing paint scheme

Former paint job on Sugar-Rush when it was orange and purple. Apryl does like her burn outs
Fire Chicken – 1969 Pontiac Firebird convertible with Pontiac power. This car was originally destined for the salvage yard when we saved it. This is Barbara’s car and she competes in Bracket series, NHRA Sportsman and Pro-Gas D-Gas category.
It has a VFN fiberglass pro front end and cowl hood assembly that was fabricated to fit headlamps, grills and side louvers to appear stock. Her car runs consistently in the 10’s on nine-inch rear tires. The Fire Chicken went on a diet the winter of 2009 and went from weighing 3325 lbs to now 3100 lbs. The top still comes down and she enjoys catching some sunshine while warming up the car. - Pontiac 400 built by Mike Blackstone at Watson Racing and Engineering, LLC (600hp) - Hughes turbo 400 with transbrake - Mark Williams 9” rear end assembly
Fire Chicken from PINKS All Out at Infineon Raceway 2010, she got selected to run in the event, what fun that was!
Lowded 67 – 1967 Pontiac GTO. Results from the testing in the end of 2008 for the 2009 season with runs in the low 8 seconds at over 165 mph. This is Mike’s car and built to compete in Pro-Gas B-Gas, NHRA Sportsman and Bracket. It is also capable of performing in the high 7-second range to run in Top Sportsman. Lowded 67's shinning new paint job, can we say WOW! Beautiful paint work by Reed's Auto Body & Paint, Inc. in Redding, CA. Thank you Doug for a fabulous job, it is sweeeeet!
